Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has on Thursday inaugurated the board of Harmony Holdings Limited, the investment management company of the state.
The Governor was represented at the inauguration ceremony by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril.
The SSG inaugurated the board at his conference room in Ilorin, with a charge on them to work in harmony with the management of the holding company.
Prof. Jibril pledged the continued support of the state government to the organisation.
The new board has as its chairman a banking top gun, Adam Nuru.
Adam Nuru held different top positions in the banking industry, including as Managing Director of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB); Group Head, Human Resources Management of the defunct FSB International Bank Plc (now Fidelity Bank); Abuja Branch Manager of Crystal Bank of Africa Ltd; and Manager at the defunct Oceanic Bank.
Other members of the board at the inauguration include, Abdullahi Abdulmajeed (GMD/CEO); Deborah Job; Abubakar Abdullahi; Damilola Yusuf; Tunde Yusuf; and Memudu Afeez Alonge.
Speaking on behalf of the board, the chairman thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for the opportunity given them to serve the state.
According to him, Kwara State has a lot of potential and the board will work as a team with the management to leverage the potential to create value for the people.
He said having garnered over 35 years of experience in the private sector, he would work with his colleagues on the board to build a bigger and better Harmony Holdings Limited.
Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated board later paid a courtesy visit to Governor AbdulRazaq at Government House, Ilorin, where the Governor noted that the job of the board is clearly cut out for it.
The Governor charged the board to leverage the present gains of the management to expand the frontiers of the organisation, stressing it’s time to take it to the next level.
Noting that the potential of the organisation should be well harnessed, with not a single one left untapped, Governor AbdulRazaq pledged continued support for the organisation.
He also congratulated members of the board and expressed confidence in their capabilities to add value to Harmony Holdings Limited.
Earlier, the board led by its chairman Mr Adam Nuru made their first visit to the corporate office of HHL in Taiwo, Ilorin.
The board members were accorded a rousing welcome by staff, following which they were conducted round the office by the Group Managing Director/CEO Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed.
The board also held a brief meeting with top management of the holdco at the Board Room.
