A high-powered delegation from Harmony Holdings Limited led by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed on Tuesday paid an official visit to the Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS) in Ilorin, the state capital.
The team was received by the Chairman KW-GIS Mr. Abdulmutallib Shittu and other members of his management team, with Harmony Holdings seeking a renewed, robust working relationship with the agency on behalf of its subsidiary company HHL Investment and Property Development Company (HIPDC).

HIPDC is a subsidiary company of Harmony Holdings Limited that operates in the real estate sector.
The Harmony Holdings team also included members of management of HIPDC.
In his remarks, the GMD/CEO noted that though there is evidence of good working relationship between all government departments under KW-GIS and HIPDC (formerly KIPDC) in the past, the relationship got strained at some point.

“One of the purposes of our visit today is to renew the working relationship as sister entities of the Kwara State Government. The investment management company of the state government must have a robust, mutually beneficial working relationship with MDAs to succeed in its mandate. KW-GIS comes top when we talk of government agencies whose operations and activities are critical to stimulating the investment climate of the state. Investors come and one of the factors they consider most is land,” he said.

The GMD/CEO also sought the collaboration of KW-GIS in resolving some of the challenges faced at HIPDC-owned estates, especially the Mandate III estate which is on the brinks of receivership due to bad loan.
Recall that the GMD/CEO had visited some of the estates owned by HIPDC in the state capital last week.
Also speaking in his capacity as the Reform Champion of the Kwara State Ease of Doing Business Council, Abdulmajeed commended Shittu for being an important pillar of the council, lauding his timeous attitude to work and competence.
For his part, Chairman KW-GIS welcomed the Harmony Holdings team, noting the agency is a creation of the current administration to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in land administration, physical planning, among other mandates.

He assured that cordial relationship would be reactivated between the two government owned entities, just as all the demands of Harmony Holdings would be worked on.
He further outlined the transformation that has happened in terms of land administration, physical planning, development control in the state.
According to him, the current administration has churned out more Certificate of Occupancy than any other in the past.

He disclosed that KW-GIS is working assiduously to reduce the number of days required to process C of O to 30 days and business permit to 7 days before the end of December 2022.
Meanwhile, the Chairman conducted the Harmony Holdings team round the ultramodern offices of the agency furnished and equipped under the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration.
There were inherited challenges of lack of working tools, including printers, stationery, that have been fixed by the current administration to ensure effective service delivery to the public.
The GMD/CEO commended the Chairman and his team for the great work they are doing, while also describing the transformation that has gone down at the agency as a result of the administrative ingenuity of Governor AbdulRazaq.
